Evinrude built outboard engines
for over 110 years. Evinrude was a branch
of Outboard Marine Corporation (OMC)
OMC ceased operations in 2000 and was owned
by the Canadian group BRP Bombardier Recreational Prod.
BRP also owns the brand Johnson outboard motor.
The mechanics of its Evintude E-TEC engines
are quite special and new. It uses injection
technology at very high pressures, called
E-TEC, which improves efficiency, so lowers
consumption. Evinrude engines are among
the cleanest on the market.
